York House in Nottingham is a new student accommodation development that will be built on the site of a former office block. The large ten storey building will have over 400 student bedrooms and it is just three minutes’ walk from Nottingham Trent University. There is a growing demand for high quality student accommodation in the city which York House will help to meet.

The student economy is worth approximately £63m a year to Nottingham and providing accommodation that is within walking distance of both academic centres and amenities, it encourages the use of local shops and boosts both the day and night time economies.

The design of the student accommodation includes an en-suite bathroom in every room and communal facilities that include use of a state-of-the-art gym which is open 24 hours for residents. York House also has a study space with a spacious layout which allows for individual but also group study. The multimedia room has been equipped with modern technology for gaming and screenings and there is also a large hosting kitchen on site.

In addition, social and lounge areas, three outdoor terraces and a programme of social events will help residents make friends and feel at home. York House will provide cost-effective and style living space for students in a thriving part of the city.

The main contractor for the project is NMCN, a Nottingham based construction company and the end client is the Cassidy Group. Easi-Edge provided 1245 LM of edge protection barriers for this project during construction. Birmingham-based Student Roost already manages three other properties in Nottingham which cater to students at both the city’s universities.
