X1 The Landmark development in Salford will provide almost 200 apartments and townhouses close to the heart of Manchester city centre. Forrest construction has been appointed as the main contractor for the project which will comprise of 191 one, two and three bedroom apartments, together with two, three and four bedroom townhouses. It will also include a double-height gym, residents' lounge, courtyard garden, concierge and secure parking.

The £31.2 million scheme is the fourth contract that Forrest has been awarded by X1. Previously, the construction company completed phase one of the X1 Eastbank project in 2016 and is currently working on X1 The Plaza and X1 The Gateway. The Landmark is a key project for the Salford area and combined with the Middlewood Locks development they will improve the wider area of the city.

Easi-Edge supplied 1835LM of edge protection barriers for all 12 floors of the building and for the roof area during the early part of the construction process. A number of considerations were made when designing the apartments to maximise the view and to improve the quality of life for residents. These include 2.4 metre high windows to increase the amount of natural sunlight and so that residents can enjoy the view of surrounding areas.

The Landmark will also form part of a growing cluster of high rise buildings in the area which are transforming the skyline with new buildings that include homes and commercial space. Previous X1 residential developments, such as The Plaza, had a high level of interest that led to all apartments being sold in a short space of time. It is expected that The Landmark will follow suit as many people in the city are interested in newly constructed accommodation with modern conveniences on site and good transport links.
