Project Halo
Project Halo is a new 7 storey building in Bristol from property developer and urban regenerator Cubex. Willmott Dixon were appointed as the main contractor on the project and this is the company's third in Bristol for Cubex. Project Halo is a £33 million cutting edge office development project in Bristol's city centre.
It is being built on the site of Avon Fire and Rescue’s former headquarters it is targeting a BREEAM Outstanding rating. The new building will provide 116,133 square feet of Grade A office space, and international legal firm Osborne Clarke has already agreed to take nearly two thirds of Halo in a pre-let deal.
Sustainability is being placed at the heart of Halo’s design as it will be connected to Bristol’s district heating network, which draws heat from a heat bore in the centre of the city. In addition, energy will be generated from descending lifts. The range of sustainability initiatives embedded in Halo is designed to create one of the UK’s most energy efficient office buildings.
Other modern features include a corkscrew-like staircase rising up through a glass atrium, with LED lighting and roof-top mounted photovoltaic panels. With its focus on employee wellbeing, key features include outdoor space on the rooftop, a bike park and glazed façade to maximise views and daylight.
Halo forms a key part of the second phase of Finzels Reach, a new acclaimed mixed neighbourhood by Bristol Bridge and the Floating Harbour, which is becoming a hub for professional and creative companies.
As part of the construction process, Easi-Edge supplied Willmott Dixon with 2310LM of edge protection barriers. Once completed the building will form an important part of Bristol’s skyline and it will be the most sustainable office building in the UK outside London.
