Every year Morgan Sindall Construction celebrate their supply chain with an annual awards ceremony. The event brings together the highest performing supply chain partners to celebrate their achievements over the past year.
The eleven national awards recognise the contributions made by suppliers which drive the success and growth of Morgan Sindall. It also gives the senior leadership team at the company an opportunity to thank partners for their support, as well as the care and attention and dedication they put into each construction project. The event also demonstrates the importance of collaboration and long-term partnerships between Morgan Sindall and its suppliers.
The Morgan Sindall Supply Chain Awards cover a number of areas that are important to the business, its suppliers, and the wider construction industry. These include safety – supporting health and safety on a project, innovation – which recognises the supplier that challenges the status quo and finds new ways of working, and social value – for the company which has made an outstanding contribution to the community.
The climate action award recognises the company that exceeds expectations and tackles climate change on projects across the year. Morgan Sindall’s company values include acting responsibly in the present to support the future, which makes the climate action award extremely important.
This year, Van Elle was awarded the Climate Action Award for their work to reduce carbon emissions by using alternative concrete mix designs for CFA pilings. These methods delivered significant savings on the Workington Innovation Centre and Thorp Academy projects, which is the equivalent to heating 20 homes for a year.
The team at Easi Edge is delighted to announce that we won the Supply Chain Family Award at this year’s awards. This recognition comes after our collaborative work with the team from Morgan Sindall on the Workinton Innovation Centre, where we listened to feedback about the weight of our edge protection barriers. By streamlining and reducing their weight, without compromising safety standards, we improved manual handling and installation time on-site.
The Supply Chain Awards also show the importance of developing long-term relationships which create opportunities for success for all of the businesses involved. There are a number of ongoing challenges facing the construction industry, and by creating strong bonds and good working relationships throughout the supply chain, it makes all parties well-equipped to tackle them head on.
