Cornbrook

Cornbrook is a new two tower scheme in Manchester, featuring 363 build to rent apartments with ISG Construction as the main contractor. The two towers, 19 and 16 storeys high, is one of several major built to rent projects in the city. The developer, Brickland, will be working with LIV Group, which will operate the buildings once they are complete.

The scheme also includes co-working space, a library, gym, residents’ lounge, and two rooftop gardens. ISG’s contract value is around £48m, while the scheme has a gross development value of £75m. The new apartments in Cornbrook will help to address the region’s demand for high-quality rented accommodation, while also helping with the wider regeneration of the city. It will also improve the quality of life for locals and brings jobs to the area. This includes almost 30 apprentices who will learn their trade on site during construction, and it will create 19 new jobs and 20 work experience placements.

The Cornbrook towers comprise of one and two-bedroom apartments, as well as duplex and townhouse apartments. Both tower blocks will incorporate a slip form concrete core and traditional brick façade, with undercroft car parking and raised courtyards. As part of the redevelopment, a new tree-lined public avenue will be created.

During the construction phase, Easi-Edge delivered and installed 8295LM of edge protection barriers to protect workers on site.
