VINCI Construction UK is a national construction and facilities company with a history of over 90 years in the UK, during which they have delivered some of the country’s landmark buildings.
VINCI Construction UK required a robust, class leading edge protection solution for a 15-storey tower development in a restricted Nottingham city centre location, housing 449 student units, retail space and basement car parking. This impressive project combines both cast in situ concrete together with structural steelwork.
On the concrete flooring, a novel approach was adopted by VINCI Construction UK for this particular site, involving cast-in Excalibur Screw Bolts. These specialist bolts are cast in-situ directly into the wet concrete and are then released to accept and secure an easi-edge socket and post system to support edge protection barriers.
Over 1.7 kilometres of easi-edge barriers have been supplied to this project over several phases. In addition to the hired equipment, easi-edge also provided a technical detailing service, installation drawings and site based field engineers to train, inspect and offer on-going practical advice.
