easi-edge Have it Covered at ‘Super-Structure’ Project easi-edge
The unique building design currently being constructed within the Universities existing campus, consists of a variety of construction techniques. Encompassing cross laminated timber external walls and a structural steel frame entrance feature, easi-edge were able to offer the ideal edge protection package to the high profile build.Working closely with the Main Contractor’s project team, a surface mounted socket solution was the preferred option to suit both frame types.  In the region of 200 metres of the easi-edge system has been supplied to site and has been installed on all floor levels including the roofline. Adding an extra element of safety, the inside of the build was also protected as the firms user friendly stair solution was installed to pre-cast concrete stairs. The multi-million pound building will be called the Julian Study Centre and is set to be the most environmentally advanced building on campus to date. Covering 2,000sqm over four floors, it will feature two lecture theatres along with seven seminar rooms, a cafe and a number of break-out spaces.  The building has been designed to comply with the BREEAM certification guidelines and the University is hoping to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating.
